Nineteen representatives from selected schools throughout Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya with their sign language books presented by (front, ninth from left onwards) Mohamad Sazali, Hamizar and Liah.

THE Malaysian Federation of the Deaf (MFD) distributed five new sign language books to 21 institutions last week.

The books include a sign language dictionary for children in the form of a DVD, a book for antonyms, a book for synonyms, names of places in Malaysia and in the world, as well as the third volume of a dictionary for Malaysian sign language.

Nineteen representatives from the selected schools, libraries, and organisations were presented with two copies of each book.

Being deaf and a hearing aid user myself I can tell you that hearing through aids is no where near "normal" hearing.Among those present at the book presentation ceremony were MFD president Mohamad Sazali Shaari, Kuala Lumpur special education unit head Hamizar Haji Abdul Hadi, and Federal Territories Social Welfare Department deputy director Liah Pariuk.
